The community discusses the future of the web and the way in which the set of technologies enabling internet will influence the development of the socio-digital life, the building of the digital identity of people and organizations, and the acceleration of learning social processes. All thanks to the exercise of simultaneous sociability and access to ubiquitous information and intelligence.

En esta presentación Mathieu d'Aquin explica las ventajas y aplicaciones que la linked open data tienen en el ámbito de la educación superior, exponiendo el caso concreto de la Open University. La Open University ha publicado un conjunto de dataset en el marco del proyecto global de construcción de la web semántica en el mundo. Es uno de los casos más avanzados de aplicación y uso de la linked open data en educación. El mundo anglosajón avanza con paso firme en la articulación de un nuevo modelo de web basada en datos. Mathieu d'Aquin is a research fellow at the Knowledge Media institute (KMi) of the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK. His research activities focus on the Semantic Web, and especially on methods and tools to build intelligent applications relying on formalised knowledge distributed online. Mathieu has in particular been involved in the development of the Watson Semantic Web search engine, and in many applications of its APIs.
